Hi, my name is Tania and I am passionate about food and its power to create health and vitality. In this blog I share my experience and recipes cooking for a busy (and always hungry) family with food intolerances and allergies. I don’t want you to have to throw your hands up in despair, as I initially did, when discovering that we’d all have to learn to eat differently. It’s a matter of tweaking your favourite foods and dishes so that they help to optimize your health and energy, as opposed to sapping you of them. All without sacrificing flavour.

This is something that I had to learn the hard way when I developed a very severe and chronic form of eczema. The cause was complex; a barrage of stress which included working part-time as a language teacher whilst running a household with three children and two dogs, as well as renovating whilst living in (and helping to manage) the building site (all without a kitchen) and organizing our family’s move from Sydney, Australia to Lyon, France. I feel dizzy now just thinking about it. No wonder I suddenly became allergic to almost everything!
Food has always played an important role in my life and I think in most people’s lives; maker of memories and witness to family celebrations and milestones. I’ve always loved to feed, nourish, make people happy, share meals and break bread (gluten-free and preferably paleo now, of course). I realized when my health hit rock bottom and I started clawing it back, that as nature’s bounty and miracle, food was part of my path to healing. Food would be part of my medicine to better health.
So, I’d love to share with you how you can nourish yourself and your family without sacrificing your favorite dishes for celery sticks, as well as a few stories of my travels and the cultural clashes I encountered when living in France and earlier in Switzerland.
